NECO Timetable for 2024 Exam Is Out – June/July SSCE (PDF Download)

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the timetable for the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal examinations, scheduled for July 3rd to August 11th, 2024. The timetable includes dates, paper codes, titles, subjects, durations, and examination times.

The SSCE internal examinations are for senior secondary students in their third and final year, assessing their academic abilities and eligibility for tertiary education. The examination covers core subjects like mathematics and English as well as elective subjects based on the student’s interests. The NECO 2024 Timetable outlines the examination, which will commence on July 3 and conclude on August 11, 2024. The PDF version is available at the end of this article.

July 10:

  • 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Data Processing (Paper Code: 6271, Duration: 3 hours)
  • 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Biology (Paper Code: 2011, Duration: 2 hours)
  • 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Music (Objective & Essay) (Paper Code: 4043/4042, Duration: 2 hours, 30 minutes)
  • 2:00 p.m. – 4:40 p.m.: Insurance (Objective & Essay) (Paper Code: 5053/5052, Duration: 2 hours, 40 minutes)

July 11:

  • 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: History (Objective & Essay) (Paper Code: 4053/4052, Duration: 3 hours)
  • 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Building Construction (Drawing) (Paper Code: 3061, Duration: 3 hours)
  • 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Foods and Nutrition (Objective & Essay) (Paper Code: 3093/3092, Duration: 2 hours, 30 minutes)
  • 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Woodwork (Drawing & Design) (Paper Code: 3074, Duration: 2 hours)

PLEASE NOTE

The time on the question paper should be strictly adhered to. For Physical Education and AutoMechanics Practical Paper I, French, Music, and Arabic Paper IV, specific venues should be confirmed by NECO state offices.

Practicals in science, stereography, computer studies, and data processing can be given in sets where the number of candidates is large and equipment cannot be moved around. Visual Arts Paper IV should be given at least one week before the examination date. Building & Fabrication, Engineering Craft Practice should be given at least three weeks before the examination date.

Painting and Balancing 1B, Photography 1B, Painting and Decoration 1B, Printing Craft Practice 1B, and Leather Goods Manufacturing and Repair 1B should be given at least two weeks before the examination date. Nigerian languages (HAUSA, IGBO, YORUBA, EDO, EFIK, and IBIBIO) should be included in the literature aspect.

Albinos and black candidates are allowed 30 extra minutes at the end of each subject. They must use the NECO-supplied OBR customized Braille sheet for the examination. Scientific calculators are allowed, but electronic communication gadgets (programmable calculators, mobile phones, IPADS, tables, smart wristwatches, glasses, and pens) are strictly prohibited.
