What is IJMB?

The Interim Joint Matriculation Board is what the IJMB Program stands for. It is an advanced-level program that has been cleared, tested, and recognized. Ahmadu Bello University is in charge of it, and there are organized groups in several higher institutions.

The Interim Joint Matriculation Board test (IJMB) was set up in 1974 under the Ahmadu Bello University Law. It is an alternative to the “A” level test. It is used by students or individuals who want to get into Ahmadu Bello University or other universities at the 200-level college level.

IJMB Benefits

The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) program offers several benefits to students who participate in it:

1. Alternative to UTME: IJMB provides an alternative pathway for gaining admission into Nigerian universities and other tertiary institutions, allowing students to bypass the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) process.

2. Direct Entry Admission: Successful completion of the IJMB program can lead to direct entry admission into 200 level in many universities in Nigeria, as it is widely recognized by participating institutions.

3. Shorter Duration: The IJMB program typically lasts for one academic session, providing a shorter and more focused route to gaining admission into higher education compared to a traditional three-year Advanced Level program.

4. Flexibility: IJMB offers flexibility in terms of subject combinations, allowing students to choose subjects that align with their intended field of study at the university level.

5. Academic Preparation: The program is designed to provide rigorous academic preparation, helping students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for success in their chosen fields of study.
