Everything You Need to Know About WAEC Registration 2024
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has started registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024, First Series. They conduct the examinations annually in January/February and October/November. The 2024 WAEC GCE registration procedure is designed to accommodate biometric features for validation at examination centers. The closing date is Friday, January 20, 2024. Walk-in registration is N30,000.00 per candidate and must be completed 24 hours before the TIMETABLE scheduled time.

How to register for the WAEC Exam
The WASSCE registration process is now entirely online for schools and private applicants, with candidates visiting www.waecnigeria.org after obtaining their registration, PIN. The registration process is designed to support biometric features for testing center validation. The Council updates national publications with entry deadlines and procedures.
The WASSCE is administered twice a year, once in May or June, for school applicants and once in October or November for private candidates. Schools handle all entry procedures. Prospective candidates purchase an entrance scratch card, complete the entry form on the Council’s registration website, and print an identification photo card with essential details like the candidate’s center, theme, and exam schedule.
They can also access the exam schedule and topic syllabuses on the website. After paying the authorized fee, applicants receive a payment receipt and pin.
WAEC SSCE Registration Requirements
- Meet the age eligibility criteria.
- Be enrolled in a recognized secondary school or obtain approval as a private candidate.
- Provide valid identification documents.
- Prepare passport-sized photographs.
- Provide a phone number for communication purposes.
- Provide an email address, preferably an email address.
- Pay the examination fees.
- Get school approval or endorsement if you are registering as a private candidate.
- Select the subjects for the examination.
- Complete the registration form accurately and completely.
- Submit the registration form, documents, and payment receipt within the specified period.
How to apply for the 2024 WAEC GCE
Candidates must pay an N18,000 registration fee at banks or accredited agents, obtain a registration PIN and information VCD, and pay at branches.
Candidates must pay an N500.00 commission to banks or accredited agents, including Access Bank, Ecobank, First Bank of Nigeria, First City Monument Bank, Guarantee Trust Bank, Heritage Bank, Jaiz Bank, Polaris Bank Ltd., Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, Standard Chartered Bank Plc, Sterling Bank, Union Bank of Nigeria, United Bank for Africa, Unity Bank, WEMA Bank Plc, and Zenith Bank Plc. Candidates must log in to WAECdirect for registration after obtaining a PIN.

The walk-in registration process
Locate a WAEC registration center in your area and gather the necessary materials, including a registration form, an information booklet, and supporting documents. Complete the form accurately, attach required documents, verify information, pay the registration fee, and submit the form, documents, and payment receipt to the center. Keep examination details safe for future use.
Students can register as “walk-in candidates” after the deadline for submissions by registering at least 24 hours before the scheduled paper time. The cost is 30,000 naira ($30,500).

Candidates for the WAEC exam must watch the information DVD before registering, register, and bring high-quality passport-size photos with a resolution of 275 by 314 pixels. Inappropriately posed passport images may disqualify entries. Familiarize oneself with WAEC rules, syllabuses, and exam schedules by entering their registration PIN on the WAEC website. Exams must be conducted in the mufti without weapons, and professional uniforms are prohibited. I will toss results from multiple sites out.

Special-needs candidates:
Candidates with disabilities (eyesight, low vision, spasticity, speech, hard of hearing, etc.) will register online with all other candidates.
Candidates must complete registration within two weeks of accessing the website and verify their information, including names, gender, passport photographs, birth dates, and subjects. They must also print an admission notice, which serves as identification during the examination. We will also include the Result Checker PIN in the notice.
